Nous quittons Hanoï sous une chaleur écrasante, heureusement, nous sommes en moto et sommes partis tôt, La sortie de ville est un peu stressante tant la circulation est grande, Une fois la route principale quittée, celle qui mène à la pagode, à l’écart des grands axes, traverse une campagne fort belle et permet d’observer de plus près la vie traditionnelle des villages, les rizières et les champs de cultures potagères,
Le sanctuaire de Dau renferme deux statues de bois laquées qui contiennent les restes momifiés de deux bronzes, les frères Vu Khac Minh et Vu Khac Truong, qui vécurent dans cette pagode il y a trois siècles. A l'arrivée on remarque les 2 humbles petits ermitages en terre, à gauche et à droite de la pagode, ce sont les deux endroits les plus mythiques et vénérés de la pagode, les dernières demeures de deux moines,
La pagode a traversé l'histoire, les guerres, les inondations en préservant les traces des dynasties gravées dans ses éléments architecturaux. Des modifications et rénovations ont contribué à sa richesse historique, les pavés de la dynastie "nhà Muc", les stèles de la dynastie "nhà Lý", la cloche de "Tây Sun" etc.. Un véritable album de l'histoire du VN.
Nous ne rencontrerons aucun touriste dans cette pagode, beaucoup de vietnamiens sont présents et comme d'habitude ils nous sourient , nous saluent aimablement, certains nous prennent en photo,,,
