La croissance du secteur primaire est en progression : 1,5% en 2012 contre 0,7% en 2011, suite aux performances des branches agriculture et élevage malgré une réduction drastique de l’exploitation sylvicole. Les efforts continus dans le renforcement des capacités des producteurs ruraux, la facilitation d’accès aux intrants et crédits agricoles ont permis d’améliorer la production agricole en 2012 avec un taux de croissance de 3,8% contre -1,2% en 2011 de la branche agriculture. Les activités liées à l’élevage et pêche ont affiché un taux de croissance très modeste de 0,8% suite notamment aux défaillances du système de protection sanitaire due à une insuffisance des vétérinaires et à leur mauvaise répartition. La sylviculture a par contre régressé de 7,4%, à cause de la suspension de la délivrance des permis d’exploitation de bois précieux.
